Fully charged is not the same as full range! Electric car batteries lose performance over their service life and for technical reasons. Factors such as driving and charging behaviour, as well as temperature fluctuations, also play a role. The differences in the decline in power can also vary greatly within the same model series.

A battery test provides certainty about the battery “state of health” (SOH). Intelligent algorithms analyse data points of battery behaviour and determine its safety and vitality.

Knowledge about the health of the battery is valuable.
The test is performed with a handy tester. This is pre-programmed exactly for your electric car model and is delivered to your home free of charge. You will be guided through the test step-by-step via the web app and no prior knowledge is required for this. During your test drive, the device collects data on the battery behaviour on battery cell level. The state of health (SOH) is analysed and determined using a patented process and algorithms. You will receive the result by e-mail within two working days in the form of the TÜV-certified AVILOO battery certificate. The certificate shows the performance in percentage values compared with the new condition and thus provides transparent information about the decline in performance. Any defects in individual battery cells are also reported.

3. Carry out the test

  • First, make sure that your electric car is fully charged.
  • Connect the tester to the on-board diagnosis (OBD) connector of your vehicle.
  • Drive your electric car from a 100 percent to a 10 percent state of charge during an everyday journey.
  • You have seven days to complete the test.
